How It Works?

Saint Kitts & Nevis Process and Timeline

Step 1 Preparation Time

Pass initial due diligence checks and engage to proceed with application.

Sign GIS service agreement, pay a retainer and receive citizenship application package.

Collect required documents, and complete all government forms. Select qualifying real estate (if applying with real estate option).

Sign a reservation agreement and necessary documentation, and pay a deposit for selected property.

Step 2 First Payment

Upon receipt of application package, GIS will check it against requirements. At this stage, GIS will ask you to pay for GIS professional fees in full (minus the retainer amount already paid), due diligence fees and passport fees.

Step 3 Application Processing Time

Upon receipt of the fees, GIS will submit your application to the Citizenship by Investment Unit for processing. If applying with the real estate option, your application package must include the original fully executed Purchase and Sales Agreement and Escrow Agreement.

Step 4 Get Approval

The Citizenship by Investment Unit shall carry out due diligence tests on all applicants and shall return to their decisions. This is one of the following:

1) Approve

2) Deny

3) Delay for Cause

Step 5 Make An Investment

In case of approval, GIS will ask you to make a contribution to the Sustainable Growth Fund (SGF Option) or pay the developer for the reserved property and transfer government fees (real estate option).

Step 6 Receive Citizenship Document Package

Certificate of registration and passport.

1. Who do I contact to become an economic citizen?

When applying to be a citizen of St Kitts and Nevis by way of investment, the main applicant must contact an authorised person

2. Can two or more applicants apply for citizenship by investment together?

Yes. Two or more applicants may apply for citizenship together by purchasing one piece of real estate, provided each main applicant contributes the minimum investment of US$400,000.00.

3. How long does the application process take?

The application process may take as little as 90days but may be delayed for cause. Applicants will be kept apprised of the status of their applications through their authorised person.

4. What is a Police Certificate?

A police certificate refers to a statement from a national law enforcement authority on the status of a person’s criminal record. It is also referred to as certificate of no criminal record or “police clearance record

5. Is the application form available online?

No. The application form for citizenship by investment can only be obtained through and submitted to the Citizen by Investment Unit by an authorised person.

6. Who is required to produce a police certificate?

Each main applicant and all permitted dependents 16 years and older are required to produce a police certificate.
